Lena Meyer-Landrut will represent Germany at this years Eurovision Song Contest. With Norway being the winner of last years contest, Oslo will stage this years event on the 29th of May. Lena was one of twenty chosen musicians amongst 4500 entries to perform at the German television show "Unser Star fuer Oslo". There she made it into the final round and after presenting her 3 chosen songs for Oslo the TV audiences voted via televoting the song "Satellite" to be performed in Oslo.
"Satellite" sold on iTunes Store more then 100 000 times in the first week after she won, making it Germany's fastest selling digital release ever.
In the meantime life had to go on for young Lena. She had to master her final exams at High School (Abitur), she will celebrate her 19th birthday later this month. Asked about her future plans she responded not being sure yet. She always dreamed of becoming an actress.
In more then 50 years history of the Eurovision Song Contest Germany won only once the precious price. German singer Nicole presented her home country with "Ein bisschen Frieden", sang in German language. Let's cross our fingers (die Daumen druecken!) for Lena this year!
