Himmel ueber Berlin, filmed in 1987 in pre- unification Berlin by Wim Wenders has lost none of its charm.The movie follows two angels who ascend to the busy place that is West Berlin. They can't be seen (except by children) and can't interact with humans but can hear their inner thoughts and desires.  Lyrically  and visually stunning, great performances by Bruno Ganz, Otto Sanders and Solveig Donmartin with Nick Cave and Peter Falck in cameo roles , this is  a modern fantasy  about  love and desire. You can watch this classic Arthouse masterpiece on SBS on Demand.
