German flour as a basis for various pastries is much healthier then the Australian one, says baker Thomas Becker, who¬¥s been running the "Brezelbar" in Manly for 4 years. Initially with mainly European customers, but today with a large number of Australian ones as well. Deutsches Mehl als Grundlage fuer viele leckere Backwaren ist wesentlich gesuender als australisches, sagt Baecker Thomas Becker, der eigentlich Archaeologe ist, und seit 4 Jahren mit Erfolg in Manly die "Brezelbar" betreibt, die anfangs hauptsaechlich von Europaeern gestuermt wurde, aber laengst auch bei den Australiern sehr gut ankommt. One of our Language Excellence students talked the other day in class about the much higher content of gluten in Australian flour and subsequently baked goods.
